On the Main Menu, choose Settings and look for the option to enable subtitles. You can also change the size of the subtitle text. When you’re in the game, you can also press the Menu button to open the Pause Menu and then access the Settings Menu from there.

Can I use free/smooth locomotion and turning?

Unearthed uses teleport locomotion and snap rotation only.

Why can’t I use teleport locomotion in the Beetle Story?

Since this is the first story in the game, we limit the ability to use teleport locomotion until the player is taught how to use it after completing the story. This is to help ease players who are newer to VR into the gameplay. You can, however, do everything you need to in the Beetle Story from a stationary or seated position.

Why can’t I find enough things to scan in the Amazon or Tongass Hub in order to unlock the next story BiOrb?

The compass arrow on your Scanner tool will point to the nearest scannable object (sometimes this may be out of reach, for now). Try wandering around and using the compass arrow on your Scanner tool to find objects you need to scan - some of them, like animal tracks, may be quite challenging to see without looking more closely!

When I successfully scan something in the Amazon or Tongass Hub, why doesn’t the number of points shown on my watch increase?

You’re awarded one Nature Point for each full Eco Set you complete. An Eco Set contains several related objects you need to scan, such as trees, small plants or types of animals. Once you’ve scanned them all, you’ll see a message congratulating you on completing an Eco Set. Tap your watch to open the menu and track your progress with each Eco Set.

When I was in the Lab, Hazzi or Penni told me to go to the Tongass Hub but I went to the Amazon Hub instead. How can I return to the Lab?

Press the Menu button to open the Pause Menu and select the Return to Lab option. Note that this option will only appear when you’re in either the Amazon or Tongass Hub.

I missed an important instruction or piece of information and now I’m stuck. How can I hear it again?

If one of your robot companions doesn’t repeat the information or instruction after a little while, press the Menu button to open the Pause Menu and then exit to the Main Menu. Load your save data from the menu to continue from the start of the last area you were in.

I’m stuck and can’t move, or the screen has turned green. What should I do?

You’ve moved into a wall or inside an object. Try using teleport movement to move back inside the virtual world or, if you’re unable to do that, press the Menu button to open the Pause Menu and then exit to the Main Menu. Load your save data from the menu to continue from the start of the last area you were in.

I’ve completed all the stories and seen the ending but my save game progress is shown as less than 100%. Why is this?

After you’ve completed the game, you can still explore the Amazon and Tongass Hubs to scan things and complete your collection. Doing so will achieve 100% completion!
